Radio Data Transmission BLUambas® PROFINET

Wireless data transmission alternative to cabling

The wireless system, BLUambas®, provides wireless data transmission in fieldbus systems PROFIBUS or PROFINET. Mobile plant components or machines can simply be integrated into the network communication.

That's why BLUambas® is the perfect alternative for slip rings and trailing cables since mechanic wear is impossible. As seen from the perspective of the controller, the wireless system, based on Bluetooth, acts like a cable.

BLUambas® is available with protection class IP20 or IP65 and can be freely selected within a radio link.

Antennas and adapters are not included and must be ordered separately.

PROFINET Industrial Wireless

To build up a wireless PROFINET system, one BLUambas® controller module and at least one BLUambas® I/O module are required.

The maximum number of I/O modules and PROFINET I/O devices depend on the BLUambas® types (Classic, Comfort, and Premium).

Each BLUambas® PROFINET module can be configured as a controller module as well as an I/O module.

For PROFINET wireless, all common update rates from 1 ms are guaranteed.

BLUambas® PROFINET Classic

A PROFINET radio link can be established between a controller module and a maximum of one I/O module. A maximum of four PROFINET I/O devices can be installed behind the radio link.

BLUambas® PROFINET Comfort

A PROFINET radio link can be established between a controller module and a maximum of four I/O modules. A maximum of six PROFINET I/O devices can be installed behind the radio link.

BLUambas® PROFINET Premium

A PROFINET radio link can be established between a controller module and maximum four I/O modules. A maximum of six PROFINET I/O devices can be installed behind the radio link. In addition, PROFIsafe communication is transmitted.
