Project description

An approximately 70,000 m², 40-metre high, fully automated high-bay warehouse, which is being built at one of Europe‘s major aviation hubs, presents the client with the challenge of establishing a high-performance OT network that supports the company‘s digitalization and big data goals and can support future specifications resulting from the corporate strategy.

The network technology is to be designed digital-ready. The changeover from homogeneous PROFINET fieldbuses to a system that enables increases in efficiency and effectiveness as well as the predictive prevention of system failures requires careful planning and coordination. Pain points include the integration of technologies, ensuring data integrity and availability and adapting to future requirements while minimizing operational disruptions.
