Combining the diagnostic tool EtherNet/IP-INspektor® with PROscan® Active V2 software makes the status of each node visible by means of a topology plan. The device status is visualized graphically by traffic light colors (red, yellow, green).

Teamwork of diagnosis and topology

The software PROscan® Active V2 works hand in hand with the EtherNet/IP-INspektor®. The topology software provides a current 360 degree view of your system at any time including comprehensive information on nodes and connections like IP /MAC address, line depth, cable lengths, damping reserves etc. Additionally, traffic light colors at every node display the health status. Basis for it is the logical telegram traffic, which is analyzed and monitored permanently with the EtherNet/IP-INspektor®. In case of abnormalities of the network load, data transmission speed, data throughput or telegram jitters, telegram repetitions, error telegrams, and device failures, the display turns into yellow or red status.

EtherNet/IP-INspektor® | Intelligent diagnostic tool for online analysis

The EtherNet/IP-INspektor® is an intelligent, passive measurement and diagnostic tool for temporary or permanent monitoring of EtherNet/IP networks. Due to its passive and feedback-free behavior it is highly suitable for online analysis and an important tool for certification, commissioning and inspection of newly installed EtherNet/IP networks.

The EtherNet/IP-INspektor ® is both a full-featured measuring device for network acceptance and a tool for condition monitoring. Depending on the pre-defined trigger functions the events are registered in the EtherNet/IP-INspektor® and summed up and stored per device. Hereby, the INspektor® detects quality values like network load, data throughput, refresh rate, telegram gaps and telegram jitter, that mirror the current status of communication quality. These parameters serve as commissioning and inspection criteria for new installations, but also as important information for maintenance and (remote) service.

User-friendly display of network conditions with traffic light colors and time graphs enable any user to respond quickly in an emergency and ensure a good general overview. All subsequently listed quality parameters are detected as events, evaluated, cached and displayed in a clear overview.

For reliable monitoring of industrial networks precise knowledge of network topology, device hardware and software versions, and real cabling is essential. The topology software PROscan® Active V2 describes and displays PROFINET and Ethernet networks quickly and in detail.
