CANBUSview XL III: CANopen Monitor Extension License

This license activates the Protocol Monitor CANopen software module on your CANBUSview XL III. The monitor reads the CANopen packets on your bus and decodes them into human-readable objects, so instead of raw CAN frames you see the actual messages your devices are exchanging. It is the decoding and display layer that sits on top of CANopen quality analysis.

What it decodes

Received packets are interpreted according to the CANopen specification and displayed as their object types:

• SDO, PDO, NMT, Sync, Timestamp, Heartbeat, and Emergency objects
• PDO contents shown symbolically by loading the matching EDS or DCF files
• Abort codes displayed in plain text

Built for analysis

View traffic continuously in scroll mode, or as a list sorted by CAN identifier in overwrite mode, where changes are highlighted the moment they happen. A powerful filter for node IDs and object types narrows a busy bus down to exactly what you are chasing.

Why it matters

Quality analysis tells you the CANopen bus is clean. The Protocol Monitor tells you what the devices are actually saying to each other, so you can spot a misbehaving node, a missing heartbeat, or an SDO abort at the application layer instead of inferring it from raw frames. That is the difference between confirming the wiring and confirming the system.

What you need

This is a software module, not a standalone device. The Protocol Monitor CANopen runs on a CANBUSview XL III for CAN base unit and requires the CANopen / SafetyBUS p analysis extension. If you do not already have the base unit and the CANopen extension, add them to your order.
